Moin Moin, I'm Ulrich Wirrwa from Ammersbek near Hamburg. Photography is painting with light for me. My specialty is industrial photography & film - focus is the offshore use, with the drone, I regularly renew the necessary certificates. Even at a young age, I came across the Baldak box and the MINOX B for analog black and white , later color photography. In the 90's I switched to digital recording and processing technology. With the video and time-lapse capabilities of the DSLR and GoPro ActionCam as well as the remote-controlled drone flight new fantastic possibilities in the field of moving image have emerged. The digital images I edit later with Photoshop. I am both an avid user of simple image enhancement by changing the brightness and color values and the gradation curve, but I also like to play with the interesting plugin filters, which can bring quite amazing effects. The editing and editing of the movies takes place in FinalCutProX, Lightroom and GoPro-Studio. For compliance with occupational health and safety regulations on construction sites, I hold the HSE Examination for Operational Employees, valid until 2023 according to document 018 of the Normative SCC Rules and I regularly renew all necessary offshore certificates: Suitability Examination OKUK / G41, Working at Heights GWO, First Aid Training, Fire Awareness GWO, Manual Action GWO, Personal Security, Basic Offshore Safety Induction & Emergency Training incl. HUET, Helicopter Underwater Escape Training incl. EBS and Escape Chute Training after OPITO

BorWin gamma Transport

Here, in September 2018, I will report for more than 3 weeks about the transport of the converter platform BorWin gamma (part of the grid connection project BorWin3) from Dubai to the North Sea.

BorWin3 is a grid connection project realized by TenneT off the coast of Borkum in DC technology. BorWin gamma offshore platform was built by DryDocks World in Dubai consortium of Siemens and Petrofac.

The 71x71x30 meter platform weighs over 18,000 tons and is transported by the XIANG HE KOU Heavy Load Carrier (IMO: 9752656, MMSI: 477810700).

Every day I’m on tour I post in a 1-minute video the most interesting topic about the transport including the day picture. In addition, I show the positions of the transport ship and my position. I plan to shoot in Dubai, Suez Canal, Gibraltar and the North Sea.
